Private air raid shelter - is made from prefabricated shells with gap between walls filled with concrete on site

The private air-raid shelter which can be easily transported to the required site is made in the form of a pre-fabricated garage (10). A unit containing filters (36), an air pump (44) and connecting pipes is made with a double end wall (32) and fitted inside the main structure (10) at its inner end. When this unit is installed the gap between the two walls is filled with concrete through a slot previously formed in the roof of the main unit. The main unit then forms the inner shell of a double walled structure which is reinforced by filling the gap between the inner and outer walls with concrete. An entrance door is provided in the wall of the main unit and an escape hatch is formed in the wall of the filter unit.
