Transformer for electrode supply in glass furnaces - has three associated primaries and one or more secondaries coupled to electrode pair ends

The transformer is for industrial feeding systems in electrode circuits, e.g of glass furnaces etc. Three primaries of the transformer are connected to the three phases of current mains, while the electrode circuits are connected to the input and output of sec. coils. Each three associated transformer primaries induce in common an a.c voltage in one or several secondary coils. The input and output of each sec. coil is conductively connected to the ends of each electrode pair. Pref. several different tapping points are provided at each transformer sec. coil for adjustment of the voltage between the electrodes of individual pairs. With this transformer circuit it is possible to operate the electrodes of the separate sec. circuits without any phase shift. It also prevents appearance of transverse loads in the prim. network.
