PURPOSE:To improve the characteristics,e.g., coercive force of a permanent magnet material by containing predetermined amounts of chromium and nickel in R-Co permanent magnet alloy. CONSTITUTION:0.01-0.1wt% of chromium and 0.01-0.1wt% of nickel are contained in R-Co permanent magnet alloy, where R represents rare earth elements. The rare earth elements include Sm, U, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, EuGd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, etc. The R-Co permanent magnet alloy preferably contains 23-42wt% of Sm, 3-15wt% of Cu, 3-15wt% of Fe, 0.01-3wt% of one or more of elements selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, V, Mn, Mo and Ta and the residue of Co. |
