<p>A sheet comprises a tissue totally embedded within a continuous matrix of foamable polymer that is substantially free of entrapped gas, the matrix being thicker than the tissue and providing a smooth surface of polymeric material on at least one surface of the sheet. The sheet may be made by totally wetting and saturating the tissue with an appropriate composition and then gelling and simultaneously moulding the sheet against a moulding surface. The foamable composition is subsequently foamed to form a foamed sheet reinforced by the tissue.</p> |
