Novel compounds of the general formula:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="28" wi="83" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>in which each of Y' and Y<Sup>2</Sup> independently represents a fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom may be converted by the action of base into the corresponding cis dihalovinylcyclopropane carboxylic acids.
