Fungicidal agents are described which, as an active substance, contain an alkyl phosphonite of the formula RPH(O)OX (I) in which R represents C1-C4-alkyl and X represents hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl or an ammonium ion, a hydrazinium ion or a metal ion of the first to fourth main group or the first to eighth sub-group, having the corresponding valencies. They have, for practical purposes, a very favourable curative, preventive and systemic action for the protection of crop plants, without this being influenced by undesired side effects. A group of novel compounds within the scope of the formula I is moreover described, as well as their preparation. |
