PURPOSE:To adjust a set gain automatically corresponding to the charge of preceding charged ink particles, by making the gain of a charge amplifying circuit, which applies a charge voltage to a charge electrode, adjustable. CONSTITUTION:A device 240 closes the lead relays LR of deflection detecting circuits 220a-b initially to discharge a capacitor C, and the counting of the number of generated ink particles is started. As far as the circuit 220a generates an output 1, a counter 200b is counted up and when it reaches a prescribed value, ink pressure is adjusted. When the output of the circuit 220a is 0 and that of the 220b is 1, the count-up operation of the counter 200 is stopped, an output code Sgc is stored in a coefficient register, and nozzle coefficients are read out of nozzle coefficient memories 1-42 to store their product in a latch. Consequently, charge voltage generators 200 and 200i for monitoring and imprinting are set to the best gains. |
