<p>A turntable, with holes around its periphery for the test tubes, is driven by a motor so that the tubes which extend downwards into a hot chamber pass through the chamber whose temperature is controlled by a thermostat. The hot chamber is in the form of an annular tunnel through which hot air is blown by a fan, with the temperature thermostatically controlled. A section of the tunnel is cut off by lock doors which are opened by each test tube as it passes through and then close to prevent the flow of hot air into the section. The drive motor, heater thermostat and fan are contained in the base of the equipment.</p> |
