PURPOSE:To obtain a molded pipe without a disorderdly rolled section due to collapse under pressure, by pressing a laminated item, which has been formed by rolling a prepreg onto a mandrel, using split molds of which parting line is displaced from the axis of the item. CONSTITUTION:The prepreg 2, which has been prepared in such a way that a thermosetting resin such as an unsaturated polyester resin, etc. is impregnated in a base such as glass roving fibers, etc., is rolled in a prescribed quantity onto the mandrel 1 to form the laminated item. Then the laminated item is inserted between the molds 3, 4 whose parting line (preferably given by the equation wherein D represents the radius of the molded item, and d represents the radius of the laminated item) is displaced from the axis of the item, and then is heated for example at 150 deg.C under a pressure of 70atm. to be cured, the mandrel 1 is removed, and the item is machined into a molded pipe having prescribed dimensions. |
