<p>A mulcher for laying down a strip of film over a ridge longitudinally thereof and covering the laid-down strip with soil, comprising a support including support rolls for rollably horizontally supporting the strip roll transversely of the direction of advance of the mulcher and restraining portions for restraining the strip roll from moving forward or backward to permit the strip to be paid off from a definite position, a pair of wheels for pressing the strip longitudinally thereof on its opposite side portions, pulling out the strip from its roll and laying down the strip over the ridge, and a pair of soil applicatorsfor covering the laiddown strip with soil on its opposite sides. The strip can be laid down while being tensioned outward widthwise thereof and prevented from separation by the soil covering. The mulcher can be equipped with a device comprising opposed side plates and a top plate for forming the ridge to be mulched.</p> |
