PURPOSE:To compensate the uneven press-contact force of each part of a cleaning blade in an easy and assured way, by giving a fine adjustment to the press-contact force of the cleaning blade to an image carrier via plural number of adjustment members which are provided in the axial direction of the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The press-contact force of a cleaning blade 2 held by a holding mechanism 4' including a blade holding stage 23, a holding plate 24, etc. against a photosensitive drum 1 is finely controlled by plural number of press-contact control screws 26- provided in the axial direction of the drum 1 and through plural parts in the axial direction of the drum 1. In such constitution, the uneven press-contact force is compensated in an easy and assured way for each part of the blade 2 formed with no high-accuracy working against the drum 1. Thus the cleaning is possible in good condition, and at the same time the adjustment is also possible in good condition after the wear. Thus the lifetime of the blade 2 is substantially increased. |
