PURPOSE:To obtain an optical device which is suited to the high-speed copying, by shifting both an illumination optical system and an image forming lens in a body. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical rod light source 2 set at a position out of the optical region on an original face 1 is projected on the face 1 by a spherical reflector 3 in the form of a light source image 2'. The slit region on the face 1 and illuminated by the source 2' is projected by a projection lens 4 on a photoreceptor 5 which shifts toward an arrow mark in a speed v0. Both the reflector 3 and the lens 4 are shifted in a body toward an arrow mark in a speed v0/2. Thus the slit region on the photoreceptor 5 is successively projected in a slit form on the moving photoreceptor 5 to form an entire image of the original.
