PURPOSE:To obtain the targeted extraction temperature faction in the continuous reheating furnace having several heating zones, while making its fuel consumption unit minimum, by controlling at prescribed values the extraction temperature, difference between the internal and external temperatures, and extraction pitch of each slab. CONSTITUTION:When steel slab 1 is charged (a) into the furnace, another steel slab 1 is extracted from the extraction and (b), the total steel slabs 1 are transported (b) to the extraction side, which their relative relation is kept intact. When the leading slab reaches the extraction and (b), transportation (24) is stopped and the next extraction is waited; this sequence is repeated. The said furnace is provided with an waste gas flue 2, heating zones (Nos. 1-3) 3-5, heating zone 6, burners 7-10, and thermocouples 12-15. Combustion control at this time is performed in units of each heating zone, and target values for respective temperatures or fuel flow rates are set by a host computer. Basically, as far as the facilities permit, under the restricting conditions aimed at the target values concerning the temperature, difference between temperatures at the inside and outside, and pitch, it is possible to raise the temperature at the extraction end (b) side, so that combustion gas of fed fuel is brought into heat exchange with slab 1 as long as possible, and then to discharge the waste gas by way of the flue 2. |
