PURPOSE:To decrease the amount of absorbed gas and thereby to enhance the tube characteristics, by performing a chip off then a getter flash, next by conducting a thermal decomposition treatment of a cathode structure when a cathode-ray tube is subjected to baking and gas-exhausting. CONSTITUTION:After a panel 1 and a funnel 3 are welded together, a conductive film 5 is formed at the fixed position on the internal wall, then a mount structure 9 is enclosed. After exhausted by a vacuum pump, the bulb is backed at about 350-450 deg.C. Next, the mount structure 9 is high-frequency heated, exhausted, and subjected to chip-off process by heating a exhaust slender pipe 10. Next, the getter 11 is made to flash, then the thermal decomposition treatment is carried out by feeding a current to electrifying heat the heater of a cathode structure 6. Consequently, the gas which is absorbed in the cathode structure 6 is discharged and adsorbed by the getter-flash film. Thus, the re-adsorption of the gas can be eliminated and thereby the tube characteristics can be enhanced. |
