1363102 Seals SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 44701/73 Divided out of 1363101 Heading F2B A sealing ring for a bearing or a piston-rod comprises two sealing lips separated by a greasereceiving groove, one of the lips being sharpedged and the bisector of the angle of the sharp edge being at an angle to the axis of the ring other than a right-angle or a multiple of a rightangle, and a mounting portion formed of two circumferential beads with adjacent surfaces extending at an angle to one another at no more than a right angle when the ring is unmounted. The sealing lips may bear radially, Figs. 1 and 2, or axially, Fig. 3, the ring being snapped into position such that pressure is applied to the axially-outward lip 6 by the distortion of a projection 13. The axiallyinward lip 7 may be of a harder material than that of the other lip and serves as a grit excluder. Grease in the groove between the lips also serves as a seal. |
