PURPOSE:To unneccessitate a diode array and to make the whole installation small in size, by connecting two IC chips, on which each of a drive transistor array and a shift resistor for a thermal head is mounted, through a tape carrier. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic plate 2 provided with a plurality of heating resistors 4 and electrodes 5 is connected to the central part of an aluminum-made support plate 1. Glass epoxy substrate sheet 3, 3 provided with driving-side lead lines 7 are connected to the both surfaces of the substrate sheet 2. The electrodes 5 and the lead lines 7 put together by 32 pieces, for instance, and arranged in zigzag manner are connected together by a tape carrier 8. In this case, the tape carrier 8 is provided with openings 10-13, the terminal 14a of a lead line 14 extending through the opening 10 is connected to the electrode 5, a terminal 16b in the opening 13 is connected to the lead line 5, and the IC chip of a transistor array and the IC chip of a shift registor are connected to terminals in the openings 11 and 12, respectively. |
