Stationary contacts (2) are accommodated in a housing (1), and a slide (3) can be displaced in a direction (31) running transversely with respect to the contact link (5). In this case, the S-like compression springs engage in mountings (32, 33) on the slide (3) and in a mounting (51) on the contact link (5). Since the mountings (32, 33) on the slide (3) are arranged offset in its displacement direction (31), this results, in addition to the snap-action-like switching movement of the contact link (5) transversely with respect to its plane, in a lateral movement as well, of approximately double the magnitude of the distance A. This leads to self-cleaning of the contacts. The simple design of the individual parts and their low-friction interaction make the push-button switch economical, long-lasting and capable of miniaturisation virtually at will. <IMAGE>
