PURPOSE:To prevent ground staining, and to improve deterioration of abrasion resistance, and water-holding capacity of the nonimage part of the metal surface of a support due to corrosion, by using a solution containing sulfuric acid and a sulfate as a common surface trimming solution before and after burning. CONSTITUTION:A solution used for preventing ground staining due to burning consists of sulfuric acid and a sulfate, such as ammonium sulfate, an alkali metal sulfate, an alkaline earth metal sulfate, or a sulfate of copper, zinc, or the like metal. An amount of sulfuric acid used is 2-95mol% of the total amount of sulfate, and its sulfate ion concentration used is in 0.05-18mol range per 1 liter of the processing agent. A dye, a surfactant, and a viscosity-increasing agent may be added to the processing agent by a proper amount, and treatment with the processing agent may be made either before or after burning, and the burning is carried out at 200- 300 deg.C for 3-20min. |
