Piston machine free mass moment counteraction system - has opposite oscillating balance weights driven by opposite crank throws

The system counteracts the free mass moments of at least the 1st and 2nd order in a controlled crankshaft piston machine. Symmetrical in relation to the middle of the crankshaft (1) are oscillating crank-driven weights (10,11), working on opposite sides of the crankshaft and with diametrally opposite crank throws (12,13). The weights can work in straight guides in the stationary housing, or can be guided by links attached to the latter. The system is particularly for in-line engines with an odd number of cylinders, or for V6 engines.
