In a gas control device with a differential diaphragm for water heaters and mixing tanks of the gas flow-heater construction with variable capacity with a closing tongue and a calibrated opening, which overlaps the water passage opening between the high-pressure chamber and the outlet line, the fastening of the closing tongue (14) is provided with play on the housing (18) of the differential diaphragm mechanism via a holding pin (26).
