In a ski boot comprising a front foot heel shell and an ankle cuff which is pivotably mounted on the front foot heel shell about a transverse axis lying in front of the Achilles tendon line of the boot transversely to the longitudinal direction of the boot and defined by lateral pivot points, and can be fixed, by support means on the boot, in a downhill position, in which it forces a forwardly inclined downhill position on the lower leg, it is proposed that by displacement of the transverse axis (Q) from a downhill position into a relaxation position (2) the support means (32, 31) can be disengaged in such a manner that the lower leg with the ankle cuff (16) can return from the downhill position into a relaxation position. <IMAGE>
