A nibbling tool comprises a reciprocating plunger 2 including a cutter 3 guided on a support 9 and a gauging stop 11 in the form of a rib projecting from the support into, but not in contact with, a groove 15, of larger crosssection than the rib, in the plunger 2. The stop 11 is preferably integral with a replaceable plate 10 located in a cavity 8 in the support 9. The plate may be symmetrically shaped so that it may be turned through 180 degrees and may have a rib formed on each face so that it is reversible. A detachable plunger guide 18 has front and side guide faces 19, 20 respectively and the rear face of the plunger on each side of the groove bears against the plate 10. The workpiece 4 is supported on a removable die 7 and a hold down device (not shown) is provided. |
