Suitably there are two pairs of jaws mounted on respective turntables to be positioned beneath the vehicle, towards respective sides. After swivelling th turntables to position the jaws, they can be operated by screws do as to grip appropriate suspension or chassis components such as may required straightening after an accident. Then the turntables may be bodily shifted by a leadscrew assembly for varying the spacing between them so the suspension or chassis is forced back into a symmetrical condition. The lead-screw may be rotated using a manually operated handle secured to one end of the lead screw.
