摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a flow meter having high performance by arranging a central electrode in a flow path of dielectric fluid and outer electrodes facing to each other in the direction of a diameter at the outside thereof, changing the electric field intensity along the flow path, and measuring the polarized current generated at that time. CONSTITUTION:The central electrode is provided in the path of the dielectric fluid. The outer electrodes which face to each other in the direction of diameter are provided at the outside thereof. A voltage is applied so that the electric field intensity between the electrodes is changed along the flow path. The dielectric polarization current which is flowed when the dielectric fluid is flowed in said electric field is sensed. For example, the outer electrodes 13a and 13b which face the central electrode 11 are arranged at the outside thereof via an insulator 14. The voltage from a power source 12 is applied on those electrodes. The fluid is flowed from an inlet port 18 to an outlet port 19. Then the electric field intensity changes in the order from weak to strong to weak. The polarized current corresponding to the flow rate flows in the directions indicated by the arrows in the Figure. Therefore, the measurement of the flow can be performed highly reliably with a good response by the indication of a voltmeter 16.
