The invention relates to an apparatus for removing at least one phase from a moving mixed phase composed of two liquids of different density which are sparingly soluble, or insoluble, in one another and form the disperse and the continuous phase. The apparatus is intended to be able to collect the disperse and/or the continuous phase, retain it and, on removal, drain it as quickly as possible and so that it is free of an extraneous phase. Such apparatus is characterised by at least one tube or tubes which is or are passed through the wall separating the mixed phase from its environment and which each has or have a funnel-shaped end which projects into the mixed phase and whose capture opening or respective capture openings for the disperse phase or for the continuous phase is or are constructed at right angles to the flow direction of the respective phase and has or have a conical, smooth internal wall. The width of the capture opening is formed in a prone position in a range between double the drop diameter of the disperse phase and one third of the width of the mixed phase, measured transversely to the flow direction.
