PURPOSE:To disperse uniformly phosphor and improve the display quality of a gas discharge panel, by stirring the mixture of phosphor which ought to be spread on the inside surface of a base constituting the panel before spreading it. CONSTITUTION:A certain rate of quantities of photoresist and phosphor are put in a container as a beaker or the like, and they are mixed by using a magnetic stirrer or the like. Then, the container is soaked in the wash-tub of an ultrasonic washhing machine, and subjected to ultrasonic vibration. Then, lumps of phosphor in the photoresist are crushed in fine particles, and dispersed uniformly. A uniform phosphor layer 8 can be formed, by spreading this mixture on a glass cover plate 2 constituting a gas discharge panel, forming it into a predetermined shape by a photographically exposing method, and baking it at a given temperature. Thereby, the ununiformity of brightness can be prevented, and the display quantity of the panel can be improved. |
