PURPOSE:To prevent a heat generator from being damaged by setting metal meshes at both top and bottom sides of an electrode, which is pressed to touch a heating member of an intake air heater of an engine so that the surface pressure to the both sides of the electrode may be reduced. CONSTITUTION:Between a carburetor and an intake manifold (both are not shown in the figure), two pieces of heat insulators 24 and 26 are interposed. And between these insulators, a cylindrical heating member 16, provided with two flanges 141 and 161, is fitted in. Horseshoe-like PTC elements 18 and 20 are interposed between these two flanges 141 and 161, while a horseshoe-like electrode 22 is inserted between these elements. These flanges 141 and 161, the elements 18 and 20 and the electrode 22 are assembled together with a bolt, not shown in the figure. Thanks to a metal mesh 223 over the surface of the electrode 22, pressing force to the elements 18 and 20 is consequently reduced. |
