A method is provided for preparing the optically active isomer [2R-[2 alpha ,3 alpha ,5(R*)]]-2,2'-[[5-[3-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)amino]-2-hydroxypropoxy]-1,2, 3,4-tetrahydro-2,3-naphthalenediyl]bis(oxy)]bis-[N,N-dipropylacetamide] having the structure <IMAGE> +TR <IMAGE> which is useful as an antiarrhythmic agent.
