PURPOSE:To enable multiple color printing with a simple constitution by using a rotary main scanning mirror, plural semiconductor lasers, a scanning lens, and a beam position detector. CONSTITUTION:A process for main scanning of laser beams from semiconductor lasers 18 on the surface of a rotary photoconductive drum 1 after passing through a rotary mirror 3 and a scanning lens 4 form a latent image and tonr development of the latent image is repeated plural times to form a multiple color toner image and transfer the formed toner image in a recording paper 11. In this case, 3 scanning beams 5, 6 and 7 are projected to approximately same surface of the mirror 3 with different angles respectively by 3 semiconductor lasers 18 and deflection is scanned with the same angular velocity. A position detecting area scanning beam 15 projected from the scanning lens 4 is passed through the mirror 16, the beam position is detected by a beam position detector 17 and recording is started after subscribed seconds from the time on the basis of the detection signal, so that the image of each color is recorded in a required position correctly. |
