PURPOSE:To increase the flexibility of a computer system, by packaging the softwate that controls the hardware into a read-only memory. CONSTITUTION:A general-purpose hardware 21 which is necessary for a basic system and a read-only memory 22 which stores a program to control the hardware 21 are packaged and installed independently of each other. Then the memory 22 is connected to the hardware 21. The hardware 21 contains a CPU, an IO device and a main memory respectively. The memory 22 is formed in the form of a software package and can be selected among several types. In such way, the flexibility is increased for a computer system. |
