CONSTITUTION:Both distance l0 to a destination Pe and its azimuth angle beta are set at the starting point P0. At the same time, the value of a magnetic needle meter is supplied to set the angle gamma0 of running direction. Thus the guidance indication angle omega0 is obtained. Then the interpost shift distance v0 is obtained from the count value of the rotary pulse of a wheel axle at a point P1 of measurement in a certain period (t) after the start of running. The unifixed number (x) and the residual distance l1 are obtained from equations l0/sin(x+gamma0)=l1/sinomega0 and v0/ sin[180 deg.-(x+gamma0+omega0)]=l0/sin(x+gamma0). Then the guidance indication angle omega1 is obtained from an equation omega1=180 deg.- gamma1-x. The running angle gamma1 is obtained in the same way as the point P0. Each of l1, gamma1 and omega1 of the point P1 is substituted for these of the point P0. After this, the arithmetic value is replaced cyclically.
