PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having high sensitivity and superior photographic speed, by forming a light and heat sensitive layer consisting of a Co(III) complex containing no sensitizing anion, a complex of a specified compound and a divalent or trivalent metal, and a binder on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:(A) One mole complex of a divalent or trivalent metal and a compound represented by the formula forming a redox couple with a Co(III) on exposure to active radiation; (B) 1-50mol Co(III) complex containing no sensitizing anion, such as hexaammine cobalt(III) perchlorate; and (C) 30-90wt% binder, such as gelatin are dispersed or dissolved in a solvent, this solution is coated on a substrate, dried at 20-60 deg.C to form a 1-20mum thick light and heat sensitive layer serving as a recording material. The surface of this recording material is imagewise exposed to the visible light, and held at 80-150 deg.C for 1-30sec to form an image. |
