<p>PURPOSE:To quicken the data processing time, by discriminating the effectiveness of data block immediately before the letngth of gap, through the detection of the length of a gap (IBG) erased for a prescribed length between data blocks recorded on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:At write-in operation, a control circuit 115 transmits a signal 200 to a running system and an erasing signal 201 to an erasing circuit 104, and a gate 112 is opened with a write-in gate signal 202 and an output of a write-in storage circuit 109, and the data block is recorded on a magnetic tape 100 with a head 102. The written-in data is read out at a head 103, and the content of data block in error is recorded to the circuit 115 if the gap is more than a normal length with an error checking circuit 107. At readout, a data signal 204 is stored in a data storage circuit 110 from the head 103, and on the other hand, an error gas is detected at a one shot circuit 111 with an erasing signal 206, and the circuit 115 transmits the effective data only from a gate 113.</p> |
