PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic sheet strip of broad width satisfactorily with a small sized nozzle of relatively simple construction by constituting the nozzle into a bridged U shape consisting of a pair of right and left curved cylindrical conduit parts, and a central ejection pipe part with a slit opening installed to these. CONSTITUTION:Openings 3, 4 for supplying of molten metal 2 to the nozzle are formed laterally spacially to the lower side surface of a tundish 1. A pair of conduit pipe parts 5, 6 made of quartz are connected and fixed to the tundish 1 in an insertion relation with these. In the leading end part on the other curved side thereof, a pair of right and left openings are concentrically opposed to each other, and in this example, convergent tapered surface 7, 8 are provided on their outside circumferences. A straight cylindrical central ejection pipe part 9 made of Si3N4 is installed between these, and the surfaces 7, 8 are fitted rotatably by means of the inside circumferential tapered surfaces 10, 11 at both open ends thereof. An axial direction opening 12 is formed to a part of a tubular wall of a pipe part 9. The preheating of the nozzle is accomplished easily by winding an iron sheet on the pipe parts 5, 6 or across both, and heating the same from the outside or the like. A quick cooling roll 13 is disposed in proximity to the slit 12. |
