PURPOSE:To separate a transfer paper irrespective of a characteristic or a quality of the transfer paper, by providing a means for measuring the characteristic of the transfer paper, between a paper feed part and a separation part, and controlling a contact time of a conductive belt and a photosensitive drum by this measured value. CONSTITUTION:Transfer paper passes through a transfer paper passage 3' in a turn guide 3, and a toner image is transferred on it by a charging means 4. After transfer, the transfer paper is applied with voltage by a voltage source 10 on a conductive belt 5. Since the uneven transfer is executed due to thickness of the transfer paper and its specific resistance, this transfer paper is measured. This conductive belt 5 is applied with constant hundreds of volts, and distances A, B where the conductive belt concerned 5 contacts with a photosensitive drum 1 are varied by moving the belt driven roller 5 up and down in accordance with the concerned measured value. In this way, a toner image is transferred satisfactorily on the transfer paper. |
