PURPOSE:To form a recorded image capable of being recorded and erased easily by action of heat, and superior in storage stability, by using a specified 3,3-bisubstituted oxyindole compound as a recording material. CONSTITUTION:A derivative of 3,3-disubstituted oxyindole represented by the general formula in which R1, R2 are each a heterocyclic ring containing at least one same or different nitrogen atom, and R3 is H or alkyl, and a polymer binder, such as polyvinylbutyral are dissolved in a solvent, coated on a transparent film, and dried at room temperature to prepare a recording material. This material is caused to develop deep blue by heating. The colored image is erased by irradiation of 250- 400nm ultraviolet rays. The recording part is caused to develop color by deactivaing said unnecessary recording part through said ultraviolet rays and then heating it to form a recorded image having a beckground stable against the visible light. |
