PURPOSE:To make detection of the surface defects of a belt during use by pressing a roller to the rotating belt in a rquired position to roll, rolling a plastic material and observing the shapes transferred onto the plastic material. CONSTITUTION:A metallic belt 1 is bent by a bending roller 2 and is rotated. As against this, a rolling roller 4 mounted to a movable arm 3 is pressed onto the belt 1 by means of a spring 5. When a plastic material 6 of a plastic shape is fed into an arrow direction and is rolled at a suitable timing, the shape of crazing and the like on the belt 1 are transferred. According to this method, the surface defects of the belt 1 can be detected at suitable timings during use and therefore the belt 1 is used stably for a long time to its life. |
