PURPOSE:To shape said printing apparatus used properly for precise printing or high speed printing by switching dot density of the dots printed according to the fine/rough switching signal. CONSTITUTION:The controller 1 (i) transmitts the dot data according to the data (letter or figure) D to be printed which is put in via the interface circuit 2 to the thermal head 5 composed of the plural heat-generating elements via the register circuit 3 and the head driver 4 and makes the head print, at the same time (ii) delivers paper by sending the motor drive signal to the motor 7 via the driver 6. On said apparatus, when the fine/rough switching signal S to the controller 1 is ''1'' the dot data is sent to the all heat generating elements of the head 5 and the precise printing is done, while, when the fine/rough signal S is ''0'' the dot data is sent only to the 1/n of the heat generating elements, and also the pulse number of the motor drive signal to the paper delivery motor 7 is multiplied to n times and the high speed printing is done. |
