Production of integral articles having multiple elongate members(18) of circular cross section extending longitudinally in a parallel manner is claimed. After initially forming the desired preform the structure is compressed laterally in a direction parallel to the laterally extending line to deform the non-circular junction regions(21) into circular arcuate cross sectional shapes. The method can be used to assemble extruded Cu or Al wires into tape-like structures.
