摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To realize the copying with the high quality and a high speed, by using a liquid crystal light bulb which is driven with no hysteresis effect via an electrode that forms a minute switching slit. CONSTITUTION:A twist nematic liquid crystal whose frequency fc with which the dielectric anisotropy has a zero cross at the normal temperature is <=100KHz is driven by the signals of a lower and higher frequency fl and fb than the frequency fc. The signals of fl of the same waveform and fb having a relative shift of 1/4 cycle are applied alternately to a pair of common electrodes containing minute transparent electrodes 14... of a substrate 11. A double freuquency of fh at the moment of application of the fb and adverse phase to the fl at the moment the fl is applied to the electrodes 17 and 18 or either fh or fl is applied to a signal electrode 15 which is formed along with an independent electrode 16 on an opposing substrate 12. Thus the liuqid crystal light bulb has no residual hysteresis effect caused by a perodical open/close action even in case the slit formed by the electrodes 14... and an electrode 15. As a result, the high-speed copying is made possible with the high resolving power and high quality.</p>
