<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid-crystal light bulb for high-speed imaging that has high resolving power, by driving a liquid crystal hiving the prescribed frequency chacracteristics of dielectric anisotropy via a counter substrate electrode to which a slit is formed by a transparent conductive part and performing optical switching. CONSTITUTION:A shutter slit is formed by transparent conductive parts 12... of a glass substrate containing a common electrode consisting of opaque electrodes 19 and 19 plus a transparent conductive part 18 and a glass substrate containing the independent signal electrodes opposite to each other with intervention of a liquid crystal. This liquid crystal is made of the twist nematic liquid crystal having such frequency characteristics in that the plus and minus of dielectric anisotropy differ centering on the cross frequency fc. Such liquid crystal has a light shuttering function in accordance with the driving frequency when the polarizing plates are perpendicularly distributed on both surfaces of the liquid crystal. As a result, a high-speed imaging liquid-crystal light bulb having high resolving power can be obtained with a simple constitution.</p> |
