The instrument comprises a flexible probe in which is mounted a pair of fine flexible wires (21) positioned end-to-end along the axis of the outer sleeve, between the two wires is mounted a cage (25) formed of three or four helicoidally wound wire strands in which the calculus is trapped. The outer sleeve (18,19) is made up of two telescopic sections which can be telescoped within one another for insertion into the duct and then moved apart to expose the cage once it is in position. Stops at either end of the main wires limit the outward movement of the two sleeve sections.
|
