PURPOSE:To provide an observation method of a rotating object, by means of a normal prism installed in the same axis as that of the rotating object whereby the image of a rotating object can be observed as a continuous stationary image by projecting the side of the rotating object in the direction of its circumference on a mirror in the form of a cone of which head portion is cut off. CONSTITUTION:For example, a rotating object 21 of cylindrical body is connected to a rotaing shaft 24 and rotated by a drive unit 26. A bearing 25 hangs and supports the rotating object 21. A hollow mirror 22 is in the form of a cone of which head portion is cut off and its interior is a reflecting surface and its central axis coincides with a rotating axis 21a. The side surface 21b in the direction of circumference of the rotating object 21 is projected on the mirror 22, and light rays from the internal image of the mirror 22 and the side surface 21c in the direction of the axis of the rotating object 21 are changed into parallel light rays by collimator lenses 30, 31 and projected on a normal prism 23 through a half mirror 32. Since the prism 23 rotated by a drive motor 28 at a speed of 1//2 the rotating object 21, images to be observed through the half mirror become continuous stabionnary images of the sides of the rotating object both in the directions of circumference and axis. |
