摘要 1,270,084. Olefin oxidation/ammoxidation catalysts. MONSANTO CO. 23 March, 1970 [24 March, 1969], No. 13842/70. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C2] A catalyst comprising alumina and oxides of antimony and uranium and having an antimony to uranium atom ratio of between 1 to 1 and 99 to 1 is prepared by a process which comprises impregnating alumina support material with a solution containing an antimony salt and a uranium salt, for example an acetate or chloride, and thereafter heating the impregnated alumina to convert the salts to oxides. The impregnated support material may be heated at a temperature of from 250 to 650‹C and thereafter may be calcined at a temperature of from 700 to 900‹C. Alumina may constitute at least 25 per cent by weight of the catalyst; oxides of antimony and uranium together may constitute from 10 to 60 per cent by weight of the catalyst which also may comprise elements selected from phosphorus, silicon, barium, vanadium and nickel in oxide form. After use in a process for the oxidation/ammoxidation of an olefin, for example propylene, the catalyst may be regenerated by air at elevated temperature. As exemplified, a catalyst having an antimony to uranium atomic ratio of 5 to 1 is prepared by impregnating fused alumina with a solution of antimony trichloride and uranyl acetate in nitric acid, the impregnated alumina being dried at 110‹C and thereafter calcined at either 500‹C or 700‹C; comparative catalysts comprise oxides of antimony and uranium supported on silica in proportions such that the antimony to uranium atomic ratio of 4.9 to 1.
