PURPOSE:To obrain a catalyst which lowers reduction overvoltage of oxygen other than platinum and is of a long life by using the metal complex having specific structure as a catalyst for oxygen reduction. CONSTITUTION:The metal complex of a compound having the structure of the general formulaI(where R1-5 may be either the same or different, H, F, alkyl R3 groups of 1-22 carbon number, central Me is Co, Fe, Ni or Mn) is used as the catalyst for oxygen reduction used for cathodes electrodes, etc. This catalyst lowers the reduction overvoltage of oxygen execpt platinum, is long in life and is of high activity. |
