PURPOSE:To simplify an arrangement of circuits, by a watch wherein a voice analizing section used for voice recognition and a voice analizing section used for voice synthesis are employed commonly. CONSTITUTION:To select and operate one of functions stored in a watch function section 1 such as a stop watch function, time correcting function, alarm function, World Watch function or so, a voice representing each function is input to a microphone 3. The voice input to the microphone 3 is analized 4 and temporarily held after being compressed 6 in its information. Then, a voice recognition section 8 selects one of data stored in a characteristic pattern storage section 7 that is nearest to the input voice, and then sends the selected data to a control section 2, so that one function in the watch function section 1 is selected. When performing a message function, the message function is selected by inputting a voice and words for the message are input. Thus input message is stored in a synthesis storage section 5. Data in the storage section 5 are synthesized by a voice synthesis section 9, thereby to announce a message through a speaker. |
