The porous sponge rubber was prepd. by incorporation of a sol. starch and a powd. water-sol. salt, which was not decompd. at the vulcanization temp., into a mixt. containing a rubber, a vulcanizing agent, and a filler, kneading and milling forming, heating and then removing the starch and watersol. salt. Thus, a compn. contg. a butadiene-nitrile rubber 100, S 3.5, Zn white 5,diphenylguanidine 5, plasticizer 30, carbon black 50, NaCl or Na2SO4 800 and starch 200parts was kneaded and milled, formed, vulcanized 15min at 50oC, washed and dried to give a porous printing roll.
