PURPOSE:To enable to jet inks of different colors from the opposite sides of a base plate, respectively, by forming grooves which serve as ink jet nozzles, ink chambers, ink supply passages and ink preparation chambers on both sides of the base plate and by attaching flexible plates and piezo elements to both sides of the base plate. CONSTITUTION:In an on-demand type ink jet head employing piezo element for jetting ink drops, shallow grooves which serve as nozzles 13, ink passages 12, ink chambers 11, ink supply passages 14 and filters 15 are formed on opposite sides of a base plate 10, respectively. Deep grooves which serve as ink preparation chambers 55 and 56 also are formed on opposite sides of the base plate 10, respectively. Flexible plates 57, 58 are attached to both sides of the base plate 10 and piezo elements 59 are attached on the flexible plates 57, 58 at positions corresponding to the ink chambers 11. |
