A bipod support for attachment to the U- shaped cross-section handguard 1 of a weapon comprises a U-shaped support member 7 which is adapted to bear against the exterior of the handguard 1 and the shanks 8, 9 of which are provided with bores adapted to receive a plug bolt 2 which secures the forward end of the handguard 1 to the weapon. An arcuate slideway 11 is located on the underside of the member 7 and is adjusted to receive a bipod carrier 12. In the construction shown legs 13 of the bipod are pivotally coupled to the bipod carrier 12 by bolts 15, the carrier 12 being of such a length that it can be moved in the slideway 11 by a distance s. The legs 13 are locked in their extended and folded positions by a spring loaded ball. A stud of the support member 7 projects into a bore in the handguard (Fig. 2, not shown) and claw-like seatings 20 are provided on the shanks 8, 9 to embrace the end faces of the shanks of the handguard. |
