<p>The mechanism delivers fuel to a combustion reactor with a fluidised bed, having an auger conveyor extending through the reactor wall round the bed. The auger conveyor (11) extends through the bed itself and has one or more discharge ports (13,14,15) at selected points within the reactor, so as to distribute the fuel evenly over the fluidised bed surface. The screw portion of the auger can be enclosed by a casing passing through the reactor wall and leading to a single discharge port at the free end. This casing is enclosed by an outer one so as to form an intervening passage, through which air is delivered to the free end.</p> |
